Treatment for plantar warts is not that easy and painless. Some of them are rather crude
What are plantar warts? Plantar warts are infections that occur in
the lower parts of the feet. They are easy to identify since they
manifest visibly as yellowish humps beneath the feet. Treatment for
plantar warts is varied. Though they are harmless, such growths cause
a great deal of discomfort to the patient. The following is a brief
description of what undergoes each type of treatment procedure.
1. Duct tape: In D-T, a tape like material is used to cover the
sole. Though this method takes a lengthier time to heal and does not
clear the virus from the body.
2. Crytotheraphy: This procedure is one of the fastest if at all it
becomes successful. Liquid nitrogen is used to solidify the protruding
warts. The result is a sudden death of the wart virus and therefore
one of the effective methods in preventing recurrence. Crytotherapthy
treatment for plantar warts is used in advanced stages where the warts
have spread considerably to the whole feet or if they have deep
roots.
3. Modified Methods: Natural methods adopt crude strategies like
scrapping using sharp objects. However, implementing such treatment
for plantar wart is an agonizing effort since it instills wounds to
the patient.
4. Laser surgeries are a more modernized treatment for plantar
warts thanks to technology. It basically involves operation on your
feet' sole to physically remove the warts and apply medication
directly to the roots.
You should note there are some described methods not listed but are
debatable in their application. For example, there is a common notion
that fire can fight warts occurrence. I have seen multiple pictures of
attempts to control plantar warts by fire and believe me, it is not
worth it. It leaves ugly markings on the feet. Furthermore, it is
rather painful and will end up creating a new wound which exposes you
to more germs and related sicknesses. Instead of this brute method you
should try one of the chemically induced treatments for plantar
warts.
Salicylic acid is used in this procedure to create a non- conducive
environment for sustenance of plantar warts. It is almost similar in
characteristics to duct tape. It generally involves applying a
treatment ointment to the feet and allows it to penetrate to the core
of the plantar warts origins. It takes time since the feet are already
hardened thus there is limited permeability. The cost of each differs
depending on instrument and cost of operation.
